Welcome to the first issue of Subatomic, The Atomic Family's new electronic zine! We've had this in the works for a while, but it always got put off for one reason or another, between band practices, touring, and not forgetting about the non-musical-related people in our lives. Lately though, there's been so much going on with The Family that it demanded a way to keep people informed with Family related news and media. Hence, the zine finally came to fruition. We want Subatomic to be an outlet for both Atomic Family bands and all of our friends -- art, music, writing, you name it. So please, get involved! Send us your stuff! We're looking forward to making a dent in the Pittsburgh scene with all of you. This month, we have a podcast featuring our unusual friends, an interview with one of the Family's oddest bands, a handful of articles, and a whole shit ton of free stuff for download. We hope you have as much fun reading Subatomic as we had putting it together. Here's some news about the label we've grown to love and call The Atomic Family:
Eskimoses is currently writing their new record due to be recorded in the coming months.
Masters of the Universe is expected to be recording their new record at The Atomic Family's Coffee Shop Studio in the next couple of months.
Next issue, Subatomic will feature a raw live recording from The Coffee Shop with The Maxipads.
Aaralyn is putting the final touches on their EP which will be available in the coming month through the Atomic Family.
The Atomic Family is scouting bands to help make millions...or hundreds. We'll see you around.
Bridgley Moore will be putting out their 4 song EP for their next big gig at Club Cafe with Eskimoses on March 26th.
Northern Aggression is rebuilding their lineup with a new bass player and potentially a new drummer. Send an email to scott@theatomicfamily.org if you're interested.
Wormrigg is a band that you can subscribe to. You personally keep the music happening! The first record, Anne Drogeni, has been released and at least 2 more will be out this year.
On Vinyl has a new bass player and will be playing live sets starting in April with some shows in Virginia with Eskimoses.
Unarmed is back and better than ever. Catch them this month with Incommunicado and Dirty Tactics.
We have added and are still looking for new contributers/members to The Family. Email theatomicfamily@gmail.com to discuss duties and rewards.
