That’s The Frantic Heart of It. “The personal is the political”. Someone once said that to singer/guitarist, d2k. That’s when he decided to start exploring the life that led him to his radical leftist politics in song, rather than continue to sing to the choir. From songs about getting old and staying punk to lyrics that delicately delve into the minutia and class politics of watching his father smoke cigarettes alone in the backyard as a boy, The Frantic Heart of It has only just begun this journey. With tunes as punky, poppy and happy as some of the lyrics are sad, The Frantic Heart of Its’ jumpy bass lines and melodic bells solos will grab onto your heart and won’t let go ‘till your feet are done dancing. |
